If you have always yearned for small town living, like I did before moving here, this place will satisfy you. If you are from a small town you should feel right at home here. Summit County is the kind of place where you say hi to your neighbors by their first name and sit next to them at a local music event. In fact the musicians may be your neighbors as well. Summit County is blessed with Main Streets full of quaint shops and great restaurants. The kind of atmosphere where you will be welcomed by the wait staff or shop owner by name as you walk in.

One of our great activities happening include several summer outdoor markets. These feature fresh seasonal farm products, creative culinary treats, fine craft artwork and ready to eat foods if you are hungry there. Additionally there are music festivals in almost every town and resort as well as street parties where again, the neighbors gather. Cultural festivals like Oktoberfest and wine weekends happen too. There's so many you won't be able to do them all.

We have local 50+ center with groups doing everything from skiing and biking to bridge and yoga. We have local recreation centers where your friends will join you in the group fitness classes. Of course you could make new friends there as well. We also have some great churches with close-knit congregations that contribute to local assistance as well as far reaching programs. Finally, the volunteer opportunities are endless from the High Country Conservation Center, the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District to many, many more.
