Local Breckenridge News You Should Know

1. Mountain West Sets Winter Lodging Record; Inntopoia, a Denver based market research firm reported that participating western region mountain destinations across six states produced all time records for occupancy, average daily rate and revenue for the 2018-2019 season. Occupancy was up 5.6% from last year, average rate 0.7% and revenue was up 6.5%. 

2. Ski Resorts Send Record Rent Payment: Colorado sent a record rent payment to the federal government for their use of our National Forests; $26.8 million for the 2017-2018 season. Likely the next check for this past season will be even bigger. 

3. Breckenridge Tourism Office Unveils Management Plan; Breckenridge’s Tourism Office began soliciting feedback from locals and visitors over two years ago about everything Breckenridge. The result is a new Destination Management plan with four major goals; Developing a balanced year round economy, Fiercely protecting Breckenridge's character, Reducing vehicles on the road and becoming a leader in mountain environmentalism. The plan will be fluid with periodic reviews and updates as goals are achieved and new ones added.
