Things to Know About Breckenridge Today
1. After years of different opinions The Town of Breckenridge and Vail Resorts have come to an agreement on building a parking structure. The structure will be built on the South Gondola lot at Park Ave and French St. It is projected to add 400 spaces. Groundbreaking is set for Spring of 2020.
2. Xcel Energy, one of America's largest electric utilities, has committed to go 100% carbon free by 2050. While Summit County and Breckenridge have committed to 100% renewable Xcel is leaving its options open for sources of carbon free energy. Colorado's incoming Governor is working towards a state wide goal of 100% renewable energy generation by 2040.
3. SOS Outreach celebrates 25 years of helping kids. Headquartered in Edwards the SOS has the mission of making a difference in the lives of at risk kids through snowboarding.
