Is September a Good Time to Sell?

Selling

Lots of national news about prices dropping and sales slowing. Locally though prices are at record highs and Days on The Market are still very low.

Here's why you shouldn't hold off listing your home if the time is right for you to move on;

  • Inventory is starting to drop again as Pendings, Withdrawn and Expireds are nearly double the new listings coming on. You home will see less competition in the next two months than the past two. Fewer homes could mean a quick sale if priced properly.
  • Fall offers the best weather to look at homes. The monsoons have quit and the temperatures are mild. People love coming to the mountains this time of year while the leaves are changing and they skies are blue.
  • It's also a good time for buyers to be looking because without the summer rentals homes are available to look at, at their convenience not when they are empty.
  • People love to be here over the holidays. Christmas/New Years is the most popular two weeks of the year by far. We have typically seen a "feeding frenzy" as folks finally get motivated with ski season right around the corner.

If you've decided it's time to say goodby to your mountain home there's no better time than now. Call me today and let's get it done quickly and painlessly. 970-389-6123.
