At one time Leadville was Colorado's richest town. Home to legends like Horace and Baby Doe Tabor and Doc Holiday the stories are fun to share. The mineral belt trail circumnavigates town and is groomed regularly for non-motorized sports. Leadville is snowmobiling friendly with both groomed trails and amazing powder stashes. Turquoise Lake is groomed for both skiers and snowmobilers. Ski Cooper is a throwback small, friendly downhill ski resort for day use only. 

Also available in winter is Ski Cooper. A small and simple resort it is great for families and those looking to learn. If you are looking for high adventure spring for the snow cat tour on Chicago Ridge. On a good day you will have fresh tracks all day. Ski Cooper is the way skiing used to be before the glitz and the bustle.
